Lewis Gersh - Managing Partner
Lewis is a digital media and venture investor veteran with over 15 years of experience. Prior to founding Metamorphic Ventures in 2002, Lewis was the founder and CEO of Wordly Information Network (WIN), a publisher of digital financial information to both the retail and institutional markets backed by TD Capital and in partnership with AOL. Lewis successfully grew WIN to $10 million in revenues before its sale, but more importantly, he has experienced all the ups and downs that every start-up goes through. Lewis is actively involved with the portfolio companies including executive team development, fundraising, M&A, operational strategy, and board management.
Lewis graduated from San Diego State University in 1989 with a BA in English & Political Science and seven years later, received his JD and Masters in Intellectual Property Law from Pierce Law in 1996. During the interim, Lewis was an accomplished athlete, competing in Ironman triathlons, marathons and ultra-marathons worldwide while writing free lance articles on the events as well as doing computer work to pay the bills.
Lewis is a member of the bar of the State of New York as well as the American Intellectual Property Law Association. Lewis is also a trustee of the Pierce Law, an internationally recognized leader in intellectual property education

David Hirsch - Managing Partner
David is a digital media veteran with over 12 years of business development and operational experience. David joined Metamorphic after eight years at Google where he was on the second employee in Google's New York office and on the founding team that launched Google's advertising monetization strategy and execution. Google was generating $3 million in revenue when David joined. Pursuant to helping hire and structure the regional sales teams, David co-founded Google's Vertical Markets Group. David and his team worked with Fortune 1000 companies as well as the top global advertising agencies. David was a leader on Google's hiring and culture committees and was responsible for the hiring of many of Google's sales and business leaders.
David started his digital media career in business development roles with start-ups Snowball and Adsmart. David understands firsthand the challenges that start-ups all encounter. David is actively involved in helping young companies with monetization strategy, business development, traffic acquisition, hiring and corporate culture development.
David graduated with a BA degree from the University of Maryland in 1992.

Marc H. Michel - Managing Partner
Marc has over 20 years of private equity and venture investment experience and was a founding Director of Metamorphic Ventures before joining as a Managing Partner. Marc was formerly Group Head at TD Capital (USA) in New York, TD Bank's $500 million private equity fund focused on the media and communications sectors. Prior to joining TD Capital, Marc was the Managing Partner of EOS Partners SBIC, a $60 million venture capital fund focused on business services and communications. Marc began his career at Merrill Lynch Interfunding, a $1.3 billion middle market buyout fund. Marc has spent his entire career helping entrepreneurs build their businesses across the entire lifecycle of over 45 businesses. He has helped management teams build their executive teams, develop their operational and corporate finance strategy and assisted them with executing financings of every type both public and private. Marc has served on numerous boards of directors in partnership with management and co-investors.
Marc has been involved in many successful companies including Coinstar, Accrue Software, CADIS Software, Open Development Software, DTS Systems, Precyse Solutions, Telemundo, Robb Report, Reiman Publishing, Alaska Native Wireless, Tritel PCS, Triton PCS, Wireless One, Mountain Union Telecom, Brooks Fiber, Bresnan Cable, and FrontierVision Cablesystems.
Marc graduated with a BA degree from Emory University in 1983 and a MBA from Wharton School of Business of the University of Pennsylvania in 1987.

Tara Eckert - VP of Finance
Tara is Director of Finance with responsibility for analysis and due diligence of current and prospective portfolio companies. Tara has worked closely with many portfolio companies and is often deeply involved in many critical operational aspects of these entities. Tara often acts as a "virtual CFO" of Metamorphic's portfolio companies providing financial budgeting and management services as well as coordinating G&A services such as payroll processing and healthcare benefits.
Previously, Tara was the Director of Financial Analysis and Controller of Comdata Processing Systems, a transaction processing company that was previously known as Tranvia where she held the same position before being acquired by Ceridian Corp. Prior to that Tara was Director of Finance at Worldly Information Network where she worked directly with Lewis Gersh.
Tara gained her public accounting experience with KPMG Peat Marwick, one of the largest international accounting firms. She has a degree in accounting from Wagner College, and is a Certified Public Accountant.

Phil Johnston, II - Research Analyst
Phil is the Research Analyst at Metamorphic, analyzing new opportunities, industry trends, and market research. He also works directly with portfolio companies in the areas of finance, product management and information technology.
Phil is also a founder of oneTXT. There he serves as product manager and oversees the come-to-market and development strategies for the entire oneTXT product suite.
Before joining Metamorphic, Phil worked for at Applied Biosystems (AB), a bio-informatics company. While at AB he managed in house software development and software group collaboration tools. Prior to joining AB Mr. Johnston worked for 3dfx Interactive, a 3D computer graphics leader in the mid-90's.
